( she can't imagine not missing home - but maybe she's projecting, because she doesn't miss the last five years of her life. doesn't want to go back to every day filled by the same rote actions, monitoring global and intergalactic threats because someone has to do it while all the while knowing that the entire universe is paralyzed by the loss of half of their inhabitants. no society was interested in warmaking under those circumstances. it was a wonder they didn't all curl into the fetal position and whimper.. but somehow, the days dragged on.
