CONGRATS to PAUL for ranking second place in the MELEE competition! To reward his performance, Paul receives a pair of finely crafted silver lanterns, meant to be shared with a loved one. When one party is thinking of the other, the lantern’s twin magically lights as well, regardless of the distance between them, and emits a soft, heart-shaped glow.

They burn without needing oil and cannot be extinguished by practical means. With enough focus, and through the will of thought alone, the lanterns’ light can transmit images or words between the pair, casting the shape of them in shadows on the wall like shadow puppetry. The light grows brighter the closer the pair of lanterns are to one another, allowing a lantern wielder to find and locate its matching pair.
