ellie! it's thanks to you i'm in this game to begin with and i'm truly so grateful to have stumbled across you in the lawless wilds of bakerstreet. you are every rper's dream to play with — not only are you a phenomenal writer but you're so fun to chat with and someone it's impossible not to make grabby hands at when it comes to figuring out more plot.

every tag from you is a delight; you have such a way with words and such a firm grasp on the characters you play. i'm totally canonblind to grishaverse but i feel like i could explain what alina's deal is to anyone who asked — you make these characters even richer than their source material, and genuinely fun to interact with. i think a lot about the difference in degrees of character reactivity in different mediums — how much/what you could do before characters would start reacting differently to you — and the fact that you have such a clear eye toward what your characters are like makes it more rewarding when threads go sideways or take a direction that you weren't expecting.

it's no small feat that there's always something to respond to or latch onto in your tags — always something that keeps the momentum of a thread going rather than letting it fizzle out, and that builds out a greater sense of scope rather than making things feel limited. no joke, you're one of the best writers i know, and it's a delight to get to be in a game with you.

our shadowheart/astarion psl(s) will live rent-free in my head forever and i can't wait to get up to more bullshit in 2025. c:

one of the great pleasures of being in a game is developing completely unexpected cr and homelander and wally have become one of my favorite instances of that — and even beyond their weirdly-sweet-and-teetering-on-the-precipice-of-disaster relationship, you are such a treat to natter with and give truly 110% if not 110000000% to everything that you do.

your characterizations are also so vivid and make me care about characters that i was previously completely ambivalent about, and you find such rich shadings to bring out of the characters you play — i'm so impressed by how much thought you put into your tags and logs, and how much that pays off wrt how i can see so many directions in which our cr could go in the future.

you are also so friendly and welcoming, which is all the more impressive (and touching!) to me as someone who is terminally shy – you're great and i'm glad to know ya! here's to more insanity in the new year!

i was originally going to put this in the game thread, BUT i think it needs to be said here. shari, i remember when saltburnt was just a twinkle in your eye, way back in the early ideas stage when it was a lil brainworm we all talked about — and i'm so, so happy to have been on that journey and see how it's grown into the amazing game it is now. not to be sappy and gross, but i know how afraid you were to take the leap, but i'm so proud you did — you've created such a welcoming, engaging game that's never boring, with so many mechanics that feel so rewarding.

you work so hard behind the scenes, put so much of yourself and your energy into making this game into the amazing community that it is, and for that, i don't think we can all thank you enough. seriously, you're a wonderful mod with incredible ideas, and it's been an honor to brainstorm alongside you and eden, so i wanted to thank you for trusting me with your baby and inviting me to be part of the process. ♥

mod and game stuff aside, you're one of my favorite people and one of my favorite writers, ever. i always feel bad when i'm bugging you for 500 threads with my ass, but you're so fun to write with, plot with, and chat with — you always came to the table with genius ideas, you're ALWAYS such a descriptive and vivid writer with the most solid and distinct character voices that make it so FUN to bounce off of, and you're just so funny and open and warm in general. i cannot stress enough how lyrical and poetic your writing is, and how much of a treat it feels like, every time i get one of your tags in my inbox. it makes me go insane and want to fly to it immediately.

all around, i think you're an incredible person and friend and rper. i'm really thankful for all of the threads we've had together, and hopefully all of the threads we'll have in the future. i feel like all of our ships have hit me like a truck with how Good and galaxy-brained they are, but paulina is and will continue to be one of my favorites. i'm really looking forward to see what's to come with them in the new year, and developing our freaky little ship (and trio ship) more, so thank u for blessing and indulging me.

you are my favorite player of sad morally dubious (sometimes downright bankrupt....) men. as a person, i find you so entertaining and charming and willing to roll with the punches — i'm eternally a shy person who wants to fall over with embarrassment when i meet someone new, but you were so kind to me from the start, and made me feel comfortable. you're proof that sometimes you really can find a unicorn off of bakerstreet just by taking a chance, and i'm so glad you did.

one aspect of your writing that i really, truly envy is how good you are at hitting a character's voice and introspection in such gutpunch-y way. i feel like i'm always overcompensating with tl;dr sometimes, but you're so evocative and manage to go for the throat in every sentence you write. you have such a clear grasp of character voice and motivations as well, and you don't stray from it — i respect how true you are to your characters, and how you don't shy from conflict or the nitty-gritty or unpleasantries of the characters you play. i think, sometimes, people feel the need to water down the flaws of a character to make them more palatable, but you embrace all sides of the characters you play.

i feel like a flop for losing sight of our psls (shadowheart/astarion back for 2025, mark my words....) but they're some of my favorite psl threads i've gotten to write, and you're the reason i stuck with shadowheart. i almost talked myself out of it when i was voicetesting, but you were so engaging and such a fantastic astarion that i stuck with it, and i'm so happy i did.

i will not speak on how long we've known each other, or even how long it's been since we crossed paths in a game again. as a person, i think you're such a gem — honestly, there's nobody i met that's like you. you're unique, dazzling, and all around a fun person to talk to and be around, and even when my adhd brain distracts me, please know i always enjoy speaking to you!!!

i'm not familiar with FT outside of the armpit licking scene, as u know, but part of me feels like i don't need to be (dw, i'll watch it one day) because of how well you write hawk. seriously, it's so easy to understand his depth and motivations and who he is as a person from your tags. as a writer, you're such a thorough and meaty writer and delve deep into a character's intentions and emotions and the mood of a thread, and i love reading your threads with others like an old woman watches her daytime soap operas.

i'm hoping we get to do more with hawk and alina in the future (and hawk and jessica!!!). i've been a bit of a flop the past few months, but we'll get there, ok. happy holidays, jen!!
