Mm. Like the Silent Sisters for wanton women, or the Sparrows for wayward sons.
It is less that there no laws for it, but there is rare a need for it. Shame is enough to motivate a man to correct matters himself, were he caught comporting himself disrespectfully outside of pleasure houses.
On the matter of Jacaerys β my sister claims our cousin Laenor Velaryon is her sons' father in true, but he does not have the colouring of either Velaryon or Targaryen. He is like Baela, you see, our cousin Laenor. Velaryons are dark of skin, silver of hair. And Targaryens, we are light of eye, silver of hair. Jace looks nothing of my sister or cousin.
Your goodbrother, did he change his nature?
oop i forgot cw mentions of homophobia & conversion therapy
Did Tim teach you about Puritanism and Prohibition yet? They've added a lot more onto the list of things a man should be ashamed of. Anything but working a decent job, marrying a pretty girl with a white picket fence, making a few babies and enjoying it 'til you die is worthy of a second glance. From the neighbors, the government - there's a lot of fear when it comes to "other".
Huh. And it's solely based on the coloring? You know - there's a phenomenon in genetics, they call it recessive genes. Not my area of expertise, but I take it there's no such thing as Punnett squares in your libraries.
Well, if it's not Laenor, then who do you suppose it is?
...I doubt it. His father - my father-in-law, took his own life in an act of nobility and he was released shortly after. We didn't stay in touch, as you can imagine.
Not about those terms in particular yet, but I'm happy to ask. They seem self-explanatory, but I'm like to miss certain nuances, and Tim seems to like his specifics.
Is he judged for not being married? He is rather old for it, at twenty and few years.
[ he's barely skirting it, what with being eight and ten and yet unmarried, but he is a prince of the realm and he is recently betrothed. he cannot simply marry anyone, when he should have long ago married a sister or cousin, were one available to him.
on the matter of genetics, that word againβ ]
It has been mentioned to me, this genetics. Mind me in truth, I do not doubt that Jacaerys and his plainer brothers are my sister's issue. But Laenor's sister was a true Velaryon and Daemon's second wife, mother to Baela. Do you not see the difference in their appearances? How so far apart. Not even the tell-tale pale eyes of a Targaryen on Jacaerys's face.
If not for his dragon, he would not have any claim to either name. Dragons only answer to dragonblood.
You did what you thought was best for him. Your goodbrother could be more grateful.
