Well, too late for me. [ Ha ha, jokes. ] How do you sell that, though?

We made a pact between ourselves. She claimed ownership of my virginity and taught me magic in exchange.

So you were promised to her?

No. It was more a guardianship rather than...she wouldn't have-- it wasn't like that.

I had been making bad decisions. My family wanted to force me into marriage. It was the most valuable thing I had to bargain with.

She would pick for me, when the time came, or approve it. We never really solidified that part of it.

So... how did it work out, in the end?

Our pact was broken.

In Rubilyk, she wasn't able to reach me and our connection was severed. That mean our pact no longer stood.

And I ended up having to make the decision sooner rather than later.

...well, how do you normally communicate?

Uh, it was more like her communicating with us? Usually by just... showing up. And she hasn't done that since I've been here.

She's got these 'family' dinners every few months where all of us have to show up. If we don't, then she finds us no matter where we are, and she takes us back. Which she also hasn't done.

I think your only option is to do something that would ordinarily attract her ire and see what happens.
