How does someone get into vampire slaying? Is it like a hobby or more like a career?

You get chosen, you don't get paid, and you have to live in secret so you don't even get credit for saving everyone's asses all the time.

So you basically got forced into doing unpaid volunteer work.

Yeah, kinda like that, only you're the one and only volunteer in the world who can do the work and everyone dies if you don't.

It's a raw gig sometimes but nothing beats having superpowers.

It's a volunteer gig unless you sell your soul to Big Bad.

What would you say makes a vampire hard to slay?

It's the old ones that give you a real challenge. They get all callused and hooved and then it's much harder to drive a piece of wood through their chest.

Just like the kind you see on pigs, but on a wrinkled, leathery old vamp.

It's actually the forces of darkness writ large but I guess vampire slayer sounds snappier.

You hear something like vampire slayer, you think, ain't she special. But there are two of you. You share the moniker or something happen?

The next slayer gets triggered when the previous one dies. But suppose she gets up again, now you've got two slayers. And one thing about B is she's gonna get back up.
