They are, but with everything this house throws us, maybe it could've been something weirder. We can talk about dragons, if you want, instead.

It did give me another father in the memories it provided. The brother of my mother’s former guard— but that is not what I meant either.

Only what I've seen on TV. As far as I know, they're not real in my world. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they are or, once were.
