It wasn't easy for you and Hawk, in the time you lived.

I really did believe that. I was so devoted to it. But I'd never even envisioned a world where it was safe to be who I was, so the witch hunts against homosexuals were scary, but not shocking. Of course it would come to this. You know? I was already hiding, I just had to make sure I was really, really good at it.

And you came from that to werewolf. And everything else this house throws at you.

Hawk is very cavalier about vampires and the supernatural.

Well, I had a few months before getting into that. But what I learned there...spying and sneaking around. It helped.

Hawk's always been hard to scandalize. I've had a hard time with it in the past. But it gets harder and harder to be shocked by the supernatural when you've spent the last fourteen months here.

How did you take to it at first?

I wasn't proud of it.

Fearfully. In all the stories, it's monstrous murders in the dark, right? It hadn't occurred to me that any of you would spare people, or try to hold onto humanity. Or transformed against your will. I just saw the violence.

[interpersonally]

It was about survival. You had no choice.

You thought everyone that had transformed, that they seeked it out?

[holyposition]

I did. It's okay.

The origin wasn't something that I thought about at all, honestly. I was more concerned with the blood sucking.

[interpersonally]

Well, it sounds like the vampire population is policing itself now.

[holyposition]

Yeah, I'm friends with a few of them. They saw they've got it handled, so I trust them.

[interpersonally]

Yeah. Louis and Lestat. They're good people, and they don't want to hurt anyone.

[interpersonally]

Just like Armand doesn't want to hurt anyone. But, did.

[holyposition]

I think Armand is nonchalant about hurting people, at best. Even if that was an accident.

[interpersonally]

As you believed most vampires were. Except for Louis and Lestat. You're a regular vampire expert, then.

I never claimed to be. I'm judging all of them based on their attitude and their behavior, just like anyone else.

[interpersonally]

We all judge.

So what have you judged me?

[interpersonally]

You have convictions. You're stubborn. And, even when you're out of your depth you have your own judgments. You seek out meaning where sometimes there isn't any.

I think we're all out of our depth here, Stefan.

Oh, you've got a handle on all of it, then? Your memories being shared was something you could have stopped, if you wanted to?

I mean, this isn't my first time I've encountered magic, or vampires, or people more powerful than me.
