[ And there she is, keeping it... relatively simple, for her usual style. Mila's fixing her hair a little, brushing some strands behind her ear, sliding her sunglasses down from her head to the bridge of her nose once she's outside. ]

Hey there, doctor.

[Oh. He really is a sucker for good legs. Harry smiles, which makes him look a lot less like a depressed English professor, and holds up the bottle of wine.]

I do hope this will suffice.

[He uncorks it and pours her a glass first, because he's a gentleman.]

It's lovely to meet you.

[ A gentleman. She takes the glass, biting her lower lip, looking at him from head to toe appreciatively. Mila maybe needs to stop wearing all these platforms, she keeps towering over the people she wants to impress — unless they're into that. ]

Lovely to meet you too. I don't usually hang out with doctors, [ For fun, anyway. ] So what brought you to Saltburnt, Harry?

[Harry is so used to being the short one that he doesn't even register it.]

Well, I'll try not to give all medical professionals a bad name, then.

[He pours himself a glass, too.]

I'm an old family friend. I haven't been in a few years - my ex wasn't particularly fond of English summers. I felt like I needed a holiday and this seemed a lovely choice.

[longlegs]

[ She makes an eh face, shrugging softly. ] English summer lasts like, three days, so we get what we can, huh.

[ She raises her glass. ]

To the best holiday ever.

[That makes him laugh, soft and warm.

He gently clinks glasses with her.]

What brings you here? Do you run in the same circles as the younger Balfours?

I do now. [ Tilting her head a little bit, longer hair draping with the movement, she grins. ] My dad's the one who's close with the family. I kinda just go everywhere he goes.

Is it as wild for you as it's been for me?

Ah, I understand. Is your father here?

[He's had enough of angry dads, okay?]

Oh, lord. I wish I could say no. But it's been far, far too eventful. I could frankly use a break.

[longlegs]

Yep! And I'm done talking about him now.

[ She says so cheerfully, a charming little shrug with a sigh. ]

You need a break from a break? Talk about a brag. What's going on?

[Oh boy. This can't end well.

So he just smiles, because fuck it.]

My darling girl, the list of my personal dramas would bore you to tears. Instead why don't you tell me what you do for fun.

[ Oh, mysterious. ]

Me? I just party and hang out with my friends, usually. I basically live by the lake or the pool when the sun's out. I mean, I've got my own hobbies, but literally two people here care about those.

[ And she's not even talking about the hacking. ]

I'd be very interested in hearing about your hobbies. People who have a passion in life tend to be more interesting.

[ Oh, ugh, still charming. It takes her a while, delayed even further by sipping at the drink. There's a reason she hesitates to bring this one up with someone outside of a certain age range - or the majority of profiles of the younger guests, even. There's a whole list of what qualifies someone to hear about this without making her feel embarrassed, and while Harry wouldn't be on that list, he's also a near-perfect-stranger. So hey.

Mila's usual bubbly confidence tones down a little. ]

I believe so. It's the animation from Japan? I can't say I've seen much of it outside of a few films.

You're a fan, I take it?

You got it! Yeah, I. Yeah. When I actually get to travel around I go to conventions all the time? I dress up as the characters, sometimes. Not just from anime; games too. That's called cosplay.

[ Saying all this with the confidence that he's going to be uninterested and promptly move on to something else. And then forget that the party girl has a secret hobby. ]

You're a doctor, so that means you can't share anything I just told you, right?

[ Tone and smile should indicate that she's joking. And the joke is to mask the self-consciousness. ]

Do to have to make the costumes, then? It sounds like an awful lot of very exacting work.

Is it much like ah, Star Trek conventions?

[He mimes zipping his mouth closed.]

That's right. Complete confidentiality.

[longlegs]

[ She laughs, ] Me? Oh, no way. I pay people to do that. And to get me the wigs and to make the accessories and all that. They're pretty expensive, but that's just because I wanna look perfect. I always do my own make up, though.

[ And everything else is magic: aka dad's money. ]

Yeah, sorta? I've never been to one of those. Have you?

Ohh, I see. So you're essentially a model? I can see that.

[He lowers his voice conspiratorially.]

Once. When I was a student.

[longlegs]

You could say that.

[ She certainly likes to hear it. ]

Okay, I can see that too. But what kinda student are we talking? High school, med school—?

I shall.

Pre-med. There was a boy I fancied who wanted to go. So... off I went. It was alright. I don't think I'm big enough a fan to really enjoy such things, but I understand the appeal.

[longlegs]

[ Aw. Her grin is warm, then more playful, stepping closer. ]

Well, if I manage to make you fancy me enough, maybe I'll convince you to come to one with me, too.

I don't think you'd have to work very hard.

[He sips his wine, but mostly just so it's not blatantly obvious that he's far, far more interested in her.]

Did you bring your costumes here?

[longlegs]

[ Side by side with him, glass up to her lips, one arm is crossed under her chest, fingers anchored on the inner side of the opposite elbow. ]

Yep. I bring them everywhere. [ Almost a whisper, starting to sound more like her flirtatious self, ] I put them on, sometimes. On special occasions.

What might qualify as a special occasion?
