Mmmm, mazel tov. [have a wave of his glass, approving.] To you both.

Bizarre, disorienting and full of a statistically improbably amount of very, very sexy people.

Thank you.

That's what you see here.
molloys: ([down] whatever hoor)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-14 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[there's a vague gesture around at the room, improbably hot people scattered about.] Should it not be?

I would say, keep your eyes open. Anything the house provides, even this game -- ( He looks back at Corry. ) Just don't get lost in the sea of attractive people.
molloys: ([neutral] god fine whatever mom)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-14 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[there's a nod, something going more solemn, serious in corry’s jovial expression.]

Always a catch, yeah? [a gulp of his drink, musing.] Thanks for the tip. I'm no dumbass, I just play on on TV.
interpersonally: (🩸 | scent of blood)

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-14 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that a saying, or are you an actor where you're from?
molloys: ([up] how bout that)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-14 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[bemused:] A saying. My ego's too big to be an actor. Sharing the screen? No thanks.
interpersonally: (Ξ• | whisper yelled | you're hilarious)

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-15 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
What did you do before coming to this manor?
molloys: ([neutral] i'm the hottest guy here)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-15 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Hedge fund and investment consultation and management. [he's lying. but he rattles it off easily.]
interpersonally: (idle and ready)

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-15 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Fancy. And, had you ever encountered the supernatural before?
molloys: ([neutral] god fine whatever mom)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-15 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in the slightest. [and he seems chill about this, but he is actually Deeply Rattled.]

You're taking it well. Is it the parlor games or the alcohol?
molloys: ([up] i know best)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-15 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Both, plus my naturally accommodating personality. [laced with sarcasm; he's putting up with a lot due to said alcohol, hot people and free room and board.]

I've stayed worse places.

So've I. You get used to it. Helps to be from a small time. Less so, stuck on the grounds. But, enough happens each month to make it interesting.

( Depending on your definition of interesting. )
molloys: ([netural] i can't read)

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-17 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Seems to be true, thus far. Auctions and portrait halls. [both interesting, in dramatically different ways.]

Does it get more "interesting" than that?
interpersonally: (🩸 | coming up for amused air)

small town, ugh

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-17 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
There was a spa. A haunted house. Half the house burned down and we moved into the yard. And then they held camp games.

( Just not going to mention the commune, OK? )
molloys: ([netural] i can't read)

alkgj;la i getchu

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-17 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
In that exact order? It's like a mid-tier cruise. Except for the house burning down, that's any cruise. Something always ends up on fire.

[cocking an eyebrow:] Everyone seems in a fairly good mood, though.
interpersonally: (down and explanatory like this)

consistent cr with yours. my dreeeaaam

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-17 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
No, not in that exact order. ( Would the order matter? ) Does it?

( He's only been on one cruise. Wasn't quite for him. It was his friend, Lexi's idea. R.I.P. Lexi. )

Do we have any other choice? When it's dangerous or, or, uncomfortable, then we're realistic about our surroundings. ( At least he is. ) Other things happen, too. There was a month we were all alternate versions of ourselves spending a summer at Saltburnt. Same names, but very different backgrounds.

the ideal

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-17 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. I'd ask for a timeline, but I'm preemptively exhausted [he huffs out a laugh, leaning back in his seat.] Oh yes. Usually something in the vicinity of the hibachi, of course, but sometimes elsewhere.

Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow you may die. [a solemn nod.] Makes sense. [a sideways glance --] That sounds -- disorienting. Who were you?
interpersonally: (open shirted what's come to)

Re: the ideal

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-17 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know.

( But he's making him never want to get on a cruise again. )

I prefer, find the moments when you can get them and don't live your life in fear of the unknown. ( Or the house. ) I was the heir to a vineyard with my brother. Our father had just died. Pretty cold businessman. And Tim was my son.

[personal profile] molloys 2026-01-17 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
Not worth it, I can say that categorically.

[cruises are unnecessary and expensive and seasickness is the worst.

corry listens quietly, nodding, then quirks both eyebrows up at tim's name.
] Tim Laughlin?

[personal profile] interpersonally 2026-01-17 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'll remember that next time I think about going on a cruise. Or, get to go on one.

( If there's anything else beyond here and the commune. )

Yes, that Tim. And he never lets me forget it. Calls me Papa.

( He actually hates it. He also hates that feels a little responsible for him. )
